Back in 2012, cellist Gaspar Claus invited several of his musician friends to collaborate on a music project over a single night in Brooklyn. Now, what they produced has been culled into an eleven-song, 70-minute release and accompanying film directed by Derrick Belcham of La Blogothèque.
One Night Stand features music from Sufjan Stevens, the National's Bryce Dessner, the Men's Ben Greenberg, Porcelain Raft's Mauro Remiddi, the Luyas' Jessie Stein, and many more. It's available through June 30 as a limited edition 2xLP through the crowd-funding website Microcultures. You can find a full list of contributors here, and watch trailers for the project below. Above, you can listen to "Lines & Drones", Dessner's collaboration with Gaspar's sister Clara Claus.
Remiddi's "Talk to Me" can also be heard at the project's website.
Read "True Myth", our feature on Stevens.
