"Saturday Night Live"'s Vanessa Bayer stars in the Above Average web series "Sound Advice" as Janessa Slater, the world's least-helpful publicist. In the past, she has "advised" artists such as Drake, Haim, TV on the Radio, Sleater-Kinney, St. Vincent, Interpol, and Chromeo. Her latest episode is a sit-down with Jenny Lewis.
"I've listened to several of your albums, and I'm wondering, why won't you cheer up?" Bayer asks. Then, when she tells Lewis that she's a fan of her "old group," she clarifies that she's talking about Troop Beverly Hills.
When Bayer asks why it took so long for Lewis to release a new solo album, she responds, "Well, you have heard that weed is practically legal in California, right?"
