Made In America has postponed the Philadelphia installment of its festival due to current severe weather conditions. The event facebook page reads:

PHILLY, due to approaching severe weather, everyone should move quickly & calmly to exit & proceed to protected areas outside of the site.

Please retain your tix for re-entry to the show. We will open gates once all is clear. All bands should play as scheduled after we re-open.

Electric Zoo has cancelled the remainder of the festival due to extreme weather conditions, according to a tweet on the event's official twitter account. According to statements posted approximately two hours ago:

Last year, the final day of Electric Zoo was cancelled due to drug-related deaths. Recently, a man was charged with selling the drugs that led to these deaths, a development that came as festival promoters announced plans to renew security efforts and increase safety at this year's festival.

Radiohead's Thom Yorke Does Another Surprise DJ Set: Video

Earlier this month, Radiohead's Thom Yorke played an unnanounced DJ set for a very small crowd at the Leopallooza music festival in Cornwall, England. The Radiohead singer hasn't lost his taste for surprises: Earlier this week, he played another unannounced set at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles during their weekly Nightswim party. The Smashing Pumpkins Share Previously-Unreleased Puff Daddy Remix of "Ava Adore"

The Smashing Pumpkins recently shared a Rick Rubin-produced version of "Let Me Give The World To You", a track that is set to appear on the September 23 reissue of the Pumpkins' 1998 album, Adore. Now, Consequence of Sound reports that the band has shared Puff Daddy's previously-unreleased remix of "Ava Adore", which is also set to appear on the reissue.

According to the report, Billy Corgan commissioned Sean Combs to remix "Ava Adore" 16 years ago, but it was never released-- until now. Listen to Diddy's remix above.

J Mascis' Video For "Every Morning" Features Fred Armisen and The Shins' James Mercer

J. Mascis has shared a new video for "Every Morning" in which a fictional religious cult called "The Space Children Of The Forest" mysteriously disappears. The Funny or Die-helmed video takes place in 1974 and features the Shins' James Mercer as a loyal, egg-loving devotee to Mascis, who plays a Jesus-like figure. Fred Armisen, meanwhile, plays his hilariously-outfitted nemesis. Watch the video below.

Watch Nicki Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Jessie J Perform at The VMAs

Ariana Grande opened this year's MTV Video Music Awards in Inglewood, California, with a performance of "Break Free", which then segued into Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda". Jessie J then came on stage and the three performed "Bang Bang". Watch video of the performances below.

Suge Knight Reportedly Shot Six Times at Pre-VMA Party

Early this morning at a club in West Hollywood, Suge Knight was reportedly shot six times, according to TMZ. The shooting occurred during a pre-VMA party hosted by Chris Brown. Knight allegedly walked out of the club unassisted. He was put in an ambulance and taken to the hospital. Knight is out of surgery and currently in the ICU. According to TMZ's "family sources", Knight is expected to recover.

The number of times Knight was shot has varied in different reports. It was originally reported that he was shot twice and that four shots were heard in the night club.

TMZ have video of chaos breaking out at the club. Earlier during the event, it was reported that the Game was denied entry to the party when he and his friends got into a "full-on fight" with security.

Nicki Minaj "Anaconda" Dancer Bit By A Snake During VMAs Rehearsal

One of Nicki Minaj's backup dancers was bit by a 6-foot snake during a rehearsal for her upcoming VMA performance of "Anaconda", according to a report from TMZ. Reportedly the reptile was in fact an anaconda, which is a non-venomous snake that is nevertheless capable of transmitting bacteria that can lead to serious infections.

The dancer was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the snake was removed from stage in a container. It is unclear whether Sunday's show will still include the snake in the live performance.

Cat Power To Play Free Benefit Show For Ferguson Protesters, Also Announces Tour

Cat Power, aka Chan Marshall, has announced that she'll play a free benefit show for Ferguson protestors on Sunday, August 24 at the Firebird in St. Louis, Missouri, Stereogum reports. Marshall will perform with her Dirty Delta Blues band, and according to an announcement via Instagram, “all proceeds will go to help protestors get out of jail & any needed supplies & food for protestors & flowers for rifles.”

John Reis Details Drive Like Jehu's Reunion: "We're Just Doing This One Show"

Drive like Jehu recently announced that they'll be reuniting for a free concert at San Diego's Balboa Park on August 31, and in a recent Kreative Kontrol podcast frontman John Reis gave more details about the event and the future of the band.

Speaking to the show's host, Reis said:

“The show isn’t so much a show as it is a chance to collaborate with the Spreckels Pipe Organ located in Balboa Park, San Diego. The pipe organ is a massive, outdoor instrument. I’ve been going to the organ concerts in the park there for years.

A friend of mine....got on the board of directors for the Spreckels Organ, and pretty much immediately the conversation turned to, ‘Dude, how are you gonna hook us up and get us in there to play? Can you arrange that?’ So, since February there’s been a dialogue about trying to get this to happen and over the last month or so, things have slowly been edging towards where this is going to be reality.

I reached out to the other guys in the band and everyone was really intrigued and excited to not only play again but to see what this was about. I’m super stoked that everybody in the band has embraced it and I can’t wait to do it."

On the future of the band after the August 31 show:

“We’re just doing this one show. There’s nothing else going on. The idea to play came about because of playing with the organ, because of this opportunity. There’s definitely no plans to do anything else after this. And there’s no plans to do anything before it, Y’know people are like, ‘Oh cool, are you gonna do a warm-up?’ or this or that. No, we’re really stoked to do this thing. As for the future, I don’t know. I mean, I didn’t think we’d necessarily be playing again at all. I’m not going to say it’s out of the question but there’s nothing planned.”

He also said that the show will be 30 minutes and roughly five songs long, and that he's enlisted someone to record it. "I just want to have something to share with people like you who can’t be there so others can see this thing,” he said.

Waxahatchee, aka Katie Crutchfield, has announced a solo tour that starts in October. Check out the schedule below. She'll be playing new songs from the forthcoming follow up to last year's Cerulean Salt , which she recently finished recording.

Crutchfield also shared a short statement about the tour. She wrote:

I’m really looking forward to my upcoming tour this fall. I'm planning on playing songs from both my albums as well as songs from a new album i just finished recording. I'll also be playing solo, which i'm really excited about. We chose most of the venues specifically because they're more conducive to a more intimate type of performance. When i first started playing these songs i only toured solo and it's always so gratifying for me to perform that way again.

Röyksopp and Robyn Share Kindness Remix of "Monument"

Röyksopp and Robyn have shared a Kindness remix of their recent single "Monument", from their collaborative album Do It Again . Listen to it above.

Adam Bainbridge, aka Kindness, said of the track:

“It's been a pleasure seeing how ‘Monument’ started stretching its legs over time: from 5 to 7 to 12 minutes at one point. When Robyn & I spoke about reworking the song, it was already so right, so hauntingly gossamer, that it seemed it could only be remixed by taking away - stripping things back to the core of its groove. I'm very happy to have Busiswa on this (even slightly slower) version of ‘Monument’, making a deeper connection with the Kwaito shuffle I thought was lurking somewhere in the heart of the track."

Said Robyn:

“I played ‘Monument’ to Adam (Kindness) a long time ago way before it was finished, so he's heard it grow and when he said he'd like to remix it, I knew he was going to make something special. A Word on Pitchfork's Role in ATP's Jabberwocky

Yesterday, we reported the cancellation of ATP’s Jabberwocky Festival. Cancelled festivals inevitably lead to confusion among those who purchased tickets, the bands who were booked to play, and other people who work to make festivals happen. In light of this, we want to take a moment to explain our involvement in the event.

Pitchfork worked alongside All Tomorrow’s Parties and Primavera Sound to curate Jabberwocky, helping to choose which artists would play. We did not have any financial involvement in the festival, in terms of either providing funding ourselves, managing how the money was spent, or receiving any portion of the event proceeds. Apart from recommending artists, we were not involved with decision-making concerning the event. Our sales team did assist in trying to find sponsorship for the festival, but the sponsors that ultimately signed on didn’t come through Pitchfork’s channels.

We’re as disappointed with the actions taken by ATP as everyone else, and hope they will fulfill the commitment they have made to return all ticket fees.

Chance The Rapper And Interpol Share Full Lollapalooza Performances: Watch

Chance The Rapper and Interpol have each shared video of their recent performances at this year's Lollapalooza.

Chance brings out R. Kelly for special renditions of "The World's Greatest", "Bump N' Grind", and "Ignition (Remix)" around the 37:50 mark. Interpol, meanwhile, played the hits, opening with "Say Hello To The Angels" and later playing "Obstacle 1" from their celebrated album, Turn On The Bright Lights .

Lana Del Rey Is Latest In Wave of Artists Cancelling Shows in Israel

Lana Del Rey has postponed her first-ever concert in Israel due to tensions in the Gaza strip, Billboard reports. Del Rey was originally scheduled to perform at the Tel Aviv Exhibition Grounds on Wednesday, Aug. 20. According to the Jeruselum Post , tickets for the event will be honored at a future performance that hasn't yet been scheduled.

Del Rey is the latest in a wave of musicians cancelling shows in Israel due to political strife surrounding Operation Protective Edge, Israel's campaign to eradicate tunnels between Gaza and their own boundaries. Neil Young, America, Kansas, Paul Anka, Cee Lo Green, Backstreet Boys, and Megadeth are among the artists who have recently cancelled shows in the area. Lady Gaga is still set to perform in Tel Aviv on September 13, however.

According to Billboard, the conflict in Gaza has cost millions of dollars in lost revenue from international musicians. CEO of 2b Vibes concert promotion Carmi D. Wurtman estimated the tally around $10 million as of last week. Indie music promoter Eran Arielli, meanwhile, suggests that industry losses could tally around $20 million by mid-August.

Nicolas Jaar's Other People Announce Work Compilation

Nicolas Jaar's subscription-based label Other People has announced a followup to last year's Trust compilation. This compilation will be called Work, and it features new music from Nicolas Jaar, Darkside, Soul Keita, and other artists on the label. It's scheduled for release as a 12" on September 29.

Other Music delivers music digitally to subscribers every Sunday. In addition to music from artists on Other People's roster, the Work compilation will host covers and remixes from special guests. Arcade Fire Cover Dead Kennedys' "California Über Alles"

As you might have noticed, Arcade Fire have covered a region-specific song in every city they've visited on their current tour. They've covered Jane's Addiction in Los Angeles, the Smiths in London, R.E.M. in Atlanta, and so forth. At last night's show in Santa Barbara, California, they played Dead Kennedys' "California Über Alles", which was written about current California governor Jerry Brown. The song comes from an EP called NO DEATH, which is being released at select UK record stores (Norman, Rough Trade, Piccadilly, Rise, Recordstore) as a limited edition bonus to their recently-released album, Sea When Absent . Unheard Nick Drake Tapes Pulled From Sale Following Questions of Legal Ownership

Six rare, unheard Nick Drake tapes that were expected to sell for more than $400,000 have been removed from sale at the behest of lawyers representing Drake's estate, the Guardian reports. As previously reported, the tapes were given to Drake's friend and folk-singer Beverley Martin, who said that Drake's guitar playing on the early demo is "absolutely excellent."

According to the report, however, lawyers from Drake's estate have questioned Martin's legal ownership of the recordings, and the sale has been postponed. It is unclear whether the tapes, which include three songs from the seminal album Five Leaves Left, will ever be released publicly.

Speaking to the Guardian, Martyn said of the dispute:

"I looked after them for 38 years, treasured them. I know the person who made the tape and they are happy for me to have it. The Drake family even offered to buy it off me eight years ago for £2,000."

Martyn and her husband, the late folk singer John Martyn, were reportedly given the tapes by a representative of Drake's record company a few years after his death. The record label, Island, has not yet issued a statement.

Blood Orange's Dev Hynes Jumped By Security Following His Performance at Lollapalooza

Blood Orange's Dev Hynes says that he has been assaulted by security guards at Lollapalooza just hours after he performed at the festival and gave a speech on racism and police brutality. At the time of the incident, Hynes was wearing a shirt emblazoned with the names of victims of police brutality, including Trayvon Martin. Commenting about the incident on Twitter, Hynes writes:

Chance The Rapper Cancels Mad Decent Block Party Appearances Due To Exhaustion

Chance The Rapper has cancelled appearances at the Mad Decent Block Parties in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston, and Toronto due to exhaustion, Mad Decent reports. He will be replaced by Vic Mensa in all four of the following shows:

08-08 Philadelphia, PA - Festival Pier at Penn's Landing

08-09 Brooklyn, NY - MCU Park at Coney Island

08-10 Boston, MA - Blue Hills Bank Pavilion

08-15 Toronto, Ontario - Fort York Garrison Commons

Chance has previously cancelled shows due to illness, including one hospitalization that preventing him from performing at Coachella.

No other cancellations have been made at this time.
