Kanye West is pushing back harder against Coinye West, a new virtual currency that bears his likeness in cartoon form. After his lawyers sent a cease-and-desist last week—via email to coinyewest@gmail.com— he's filed documents in New York requesting that a judge shut down the marketing and sale of the currency, TMZ reports. Because the identities of the creators of Coinye West are still unknown, Kanye has had to request an injunction against a number of companies potentially responsible for the currency.
TMZ reports that Kanye has added Amazon to the list of targets on the basis that Amazon provides web-hosting services to Coinye-affiliated websites. He's also suing for a portion of the profits earned off Coinye West. The currency's website is still up and running, however.
