This year marks the first-ever YouTube Music Awards, an event created by YouTube in partnership with director Spike Jonze. The awards set out to honor the artists who thrive on YouTube-- "a celebration of music honoring the artists and songs that YouTube fans have turned into global hits over the past year."
Among this year's performers are Arcade Fire, Eminem, and Lady Gaga, and a host of international acts. Actor Jason Schwartzman will host the show, which airs live from New York City on November 3.
