Sirah's new song, "Inhale," has left us floored.
In case you couldn't tell, we've been having a pretty Sirah-heavy couple o' days. On Tuesday, the electro indie-pop rapper (that's a genre, right??) and her song "On To The Next" graced our 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week roundup, and today her new single gets the spotlight all to itself. Contrary to the previous track, which is a total kiss-off anthem that lyrically eviscerates its unfortunate muse, "Inhale" describes the lighter side of love: the cute little things you notice about a crush, wanting to breathe in every moment of a duh-ream date (hence the title) -- that sort of thing. She's equally strong on both romantic angles, but we thiiiink we gotta give it up for "Inhale," if only by a hair Skrillex-style bouffant on the Grammys red carpet.
Listen to Sirah's "Inhale" after the jump.
Like a more upbeat version of Nicki Minaj's "Right Thru Me," Sirah raps the verses before full-on blasting into the sung chorus: "Every breathe I take I inhale this night / Every kiss you gave just makes me feel all right." The explosiveness of the vocals is matched by the pulsing beat, which has a super arcade-y, 8-bit quality to it -- much like A*M*E's "Play The Game Boy" and Kelly Rowland's "Freak." IN CASE IT WASN'T OBVIOUS, we love "Inhale," and cannot WAIT to see what Sirah drops next.
And speaking of which, look out for Sirah's forthcoming Inhale EP, dropping Aug. 13.
