Tangerine Dream Cover “Stranger Things” Soundtrack: Listen

Legendary German electronic music group Tangerine Dream have shared a pair of interpolations on themes from the “Stranger Things” soundtrack. The first is closer to a straight cover of the show’s opening theme song; listen below. Tangerine Dream were cited by “Stranger Things” composers (and S U R V I V E members) Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein as an influence on their score; the group’s music was also featured in the series. (Tangerine Dream founder Edgar Froese passed away in 2015—after his death, the remaining band members committed to continuing on with the band without him.) “Stranger Things” was recently renewed by Netflix for a second season. The vinyl release of the first season’s soundtrack was announced earlier this month.
