Sufjan Stevens Gets Freaky in Sisyphus' "Booty Call" Video
Sufjan Stevens, Son Lux, and Serengeti recently released a self-titled album as Sisyphus and Paper points out that there's a video for album cut "Booty Call", in which the trio parties inside a room with a bunch of women. Black Lips' Cole Alexander Clarifies Comments About Rap Music
Yesterday, Black Lips guitarist Cole Alexander caused a stink after an interview with The A.V. Club in which he criticized Drake while expressing his preference for "melodramatic, ignorant rap" and rappers who are "more ghetto and ratchet sounding."
Today, he clarified his comments in an interview with Creative Loafing Atlanta:
I didn't realize my detractors held the stereotype that rap is simply a black thing. That ignorance is just a black thing. I never got that memo. There are plenty of white rappers on the scene singing dumb shit and I love it. Really, trap is just my preference in hip-hop. I don't completely dislike conscious rap. We had the GZA from the Wu-Tang lay a verse on one of our tracks ["Drop I Hold"]. He is, in my book, one of the greatest lyrically conscious rappers of our time. I don't think he would fuck with us if he felt I was racist. Also, those interviews aren't verbatim, but I was trying to explain that I come from an upper middle class neighborhood. So I'm not some artist claiming I have had some crazy struggle. Having said that, from Kindergarten through high school, my public school had the M-to-M program which shipped in inner city black kids, so my school was roughly 50/50 black-white. I used to get my ass kicked by kids from tougher neighborhoods than mine. So I, by no means, was raised up in some sheltered white environment. I also like my rock dumb and evil as well. Just my opinion.

Yumi Zouma's take on the Air France track features a recording of Karlsson and Markstedt speaking portions of their own 'love letter' to Air France's demise, including the notable spoken lyric, "Dear Air France....Sometimes I think the way we met happened too fast."

Frank Ocean Settles Lawsuit With Chipotle
Chipotle recently sued Frank Ocean. After Ocean backed out of a $425,000 deal to cover "Pure Imagination" for an ad—which Fiona Apple ultimately sang—the corporation was demanding back his $212,500 advance. Ocean responded by posting a scan of the check for the exact amount on his Tumblr, adding the memo: "FUCK OFF".
TMZ now reports that Chipotle received the money and the case has been settled. But a rep says that the check did not arrive in its publicized form. Apparently, Ocean did not actually mail Chipotle the "FUCK OFF" check. (I'd argue that the message was nonetheless pretty clear.)

Veruca Salt Reunite, Original Lineup Releasing First New Music in 14 Years
It's been 14 years since 90s alt darlings Veruca Salt released material with their original line-up. Now, Nina Gordon, Louise Post, Steve Lack and Jim Shapiro have announced that they've reunited and will be putting out a new 10" on Record Store Day. Released by the band's original label, Minty Fresh, the 10" features their hit "Seether", as well as two new songs, "The Museum of Broken Relationships" and "It's Holy".
Veruca Salt released two hit albums in the 90s, 1994's American Thighs and its 1997 follow-up Eight Arms to Hold You. Post kept the band going for several more years, but the line-up was a revolving door after Gordon left in 1998 to pursue a solo career. Last March, the band hinted at a reunion, posting on their Facebook page, "for now let's just say this: hatchets buried, axes exhumed."
"The Museum of Broken Relationships" and "It's Holy" were produced by Wood.

Sky Ferreira Speaks Out Against Hateful Internet Commentary
In a statement made on her Facebook page early this morning, Sky Ferreira spoke out against misogyny, homophobia, and other hateful internet commentary that she has experienced. The statement addresses Ferreira's personal experiences with abuse, and urges readers to delete or report offensive comments. It ends with a call for internet users to "show & spread compassion".
Read the full statement below:
I'm exhausted of (more than some) people telling me how I should look or be if I want to be a "pop star" & how they think it's okay to say vile & (sexually) abusive shit to me on a daily basis over the internet. I'm not only writing about myself...because almost every person has to deal with this. It's a shame because I now feel like I can't connect or directly speak with true fans. I'm not a mess,I'm not a drug addict, I'm not a slut or a bitch. I recently blocked someone because they were constantly harassing me & making fun of sexual abuse that happened in my past...Which I've publicly spoken about to hopefully help others. They came to one of my shows & my friend confronted the person. We were accused of being homophobic after. Which is absolutely insane because my friends,my family & a majority of my fans are homosexual. Sexuality, gender, race,& age are irrelevant to me. As it should be for everyone by now. Treating people like shit because you feel like shit doesn't help anyone. If you see hateful/disgusting/abusive comments, please start reporting it or deleting it. I think that's the only way we can start to lower that sort of thing from happening. Use the internet as a way to connect with others & LEARN. Show & spread compassion. <33333
P.S. Sorry for the typos

Video: Arctic Monkeys, "Arabella"
Arctic Monkeys latest video, for AM cut "Arabella", finds the band in old fashioned black-and-white. Directed by Jake Nava, the clip features a bit of female nudity, so possibly not entirely safe for work.
